- Haruo Naito
The Harvard University Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology broke
ground in March, 1998 on Naito Laboratory, which joins the Converse and
Mallinckrodt Laboratories. The crucial first step in launching this project
was made through a generous gift from Mr. Haruo Naito, CEO of the Eisai
Pharmaceutical Company. The gift was accepted by Harvard and, in gratitude,
the new building was named after the Naito family in a formal dedication
ceremony in April, 2000. The Naito Laboratory houses appointments in all
areas of chemical research.
- Eisai Company Limited
In honor of Professor Yoshito Kishi of Harvard University and in
recognition of his highly impactful contributions and long-standing
service to research and teaching in chemistry and chemical biology, the
Eisai Company Limited
has established the Y. Kishi Fund for Graduate Fellowships in Chemistry and
Chemical Biology to provide an endowed source of funding for the support of deserving
graduate students in all areas of research in chemistry and chemical biology within CCB.
Through Eisai's sponsorship, CCB can ensure its ability to continue to attract, enroll,
and support the brightest and most talented graduate students in the field throughout
the world, who play a vital role in research and undergraduate education at Harvard.
