The Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department has a Graduate Student award.
It is the Dudley R. Herschbach Teaching Award which "recognizes excellence
in teaching and dedication to departmental service."
Criteria:
- High CUE scores
- Reputation as a teacher and nomination by one Faculty member AND one undergraduate student
- Has taught more than one semester
- Has made significant contributions (i.e. Quality of Life work, Science Center lab efforts, etc.) to the Department
- Can only be won once
One Award for each semester, if there is a worthy nominee,
to include:
- $500 stipend with a Certificate signed by the Chair Presentation(s) at a Faculty
Meeting, or appropriate gathering, by Dudley R. Herschbach, Frank B. Baird,
Jr. Research Professor of Science
- Individual's name inscribed on the teaching award plaque in the Department Center
Nominations can be made either by e-mail or hard copy and sent to
Dr. Gregory Tucci, Assistant Director
of Undergraduate Studies or
Tony Shaw, Director of Laboratories
