RECYCLING

Recycle all of the following items

Batteries

  • Alkalines;
  • Buttons;
  • Cell phone batteries;
  • Rechargeables.

Collection area: VWR stockroom

Rigid Lab Plastics

  • Used pipette tip boxes;
  • Clean nalgenes;
  • Clean water bottles;
  • Other lab plastics not contaminated with hazardous waste.

Collection areas: specially marked bins. To request a bin for your lab, e-mail delbou@chemistry.harvard.edu

Paper

“If you can rip it, you can recycle it.”
  • Office paper;
  • Colored paper;
  • Newspapers;
  • Magazines;
  • Catalogs;
  • Cardboard;
  • Paperboard;
  • and pretty much any paper that does not have food on it!

Staples, tape, paper clips, and “window” envelopes are all okay.

Co-Mingled Containers

  • All beverage containers (glass, plastic and aluminum)
  • All plastics labeled #1-7 (look for the small triangle on the bottom of the container)
  • Clean aluminum foil
  • Clean salad containers (check for plastic #1-7)
  • Juice containers, milk containers
  • And much more! Always check the bottom and please rinse out the container before recycling
  • NO STYROFOAM!

Recycling bins should be available in all CCB buildings. To request a bin for your area please contact Nicole Delbou from Operations at delbou@chemistry.harvard.edu
