Our department features active research programs in organic, physical, inorganic, theoretical chemistry, and in chemical biology and chemical physics, with particularly exciting work being done at the interfaces between research areas. The community of faculty, post-docs, graduate students, undergraduates, and staff make Harvard a terrific place to learn, teach, and perform research in the chemical sciences. Couple all that with the excellent facilities here (state-of-the-art laboratories, extensive instrumentation, a wonderful library, and well-maintained teaching facilities) and you can expect a great field of job candidates at the PhD level every year.
